A ground penetrating radar in use for asset location

Asset Locating

A Ground Penetrating Radar [GPR] is a small, hi-tech battery operated unit that scans the ground beneath it for changes in density.  This means you can ‘see’ the conditions beneath you without ever disturbing the surface.  Whether you are searching for a water pipe or the top of the bedrock, a GPR and its operator is the ideal solution for asset location who can locate items by simply passing over the ground and analysing the data

With GPR data, you can safely  locate and identify assets when no other information is available.

Geological Reports

GPR data is also the key component to our Geo Reporting.  A Geo Report can help you identify the optimal place to take a core sample prior to mobilising the drill if it is determined that additional data is needed.

A GPR is often chosen over core sampling not only because it is a cheaper and faster alternative, but due to its non-destructive techniques it is also low impact and due to its small, highly mobile footprint it provides greater access to smaller areas.   A Geological Report can be compiled from data retrieved from the GPR as to the geological formations under the ground.

Concrete Scanning

A GPR is also the preferred option for scanning concrete slabs and floors to identify services.  With our smaller hand held scanner, the mobility and versatility is greatly improved.  Concrete scans are a key safety requirement for large buildings undergoing construction, such as shopping centres or high rise.  The GPR can accurately scan the area of proposed works to identify if there are any risks to destructive work such as drilling and coring or removing material.
